Martha Taylor MD
Dr. Martha Taylor is Board Certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
She attended the University of Massachusetts as a Zoology undergraduate. She was graduated and a member of AOA, the honor society, from Baylor College of Medicine in 1980. She then came further west to do her Pediatric Residency and Ambulatory Chief Residency at UCSF, a year behind Dr. Kelly. She became an Assistant and then Associate Professor Pediatrics at UCSF. Along with teaching medical students and residents, she developed a very busy, and wonderful outpatient faculty practice over the next 20 years. She enjoyed watching her patients grow up, and even 2nd generation patients were in the practice.
She was chosen for many years to be included in the listing of “The Best Doctors in America”. She was cited in San Francisco Magazine’s 520 Best Doctors in 2005. Additionally, she was included in the survey of favorite pediatricians in the Bay Area, in the publication, “Babies by the Bay”, Wildcat Canyon Press in 2002.
In 2005, Dr. Taylor moved to Atlanta, Georgia and worked with Kaiser Permanente for several years, which was a very positive experience. She returned to the Bay Area last winter, to live closer to her two delightful and wonderful sons, who are in their 20s. One is a chef and librarian-to-be in San Francisco, and the other is a free-lance musician, a bassist, in Los Angeles.
In her free time, Dr. Taylor is an avid and somewhat competitive sportswoman. Her interests include golf, tennis, skiing, and hiking. Her other hobbies include knitting, needlepointing, reading, and playing her clarinet. Piano lessons might even be on the horizon!
She is very much looking forward to working with Pacific Pediatrics!
